The Solicitors Regulation Authority requires us to advise you that in the event of you having reason to complain about the handling of your case, you should write in the first instance to the person named at the head of these notes and if you do not receive a satisfactory response within fourteen days, you should then write to the firms Complaints Officer, Solicitor/Director Mr Christopher Weir at Waring & Co, 1-3 The Courtyard, Calvin Street, Bolton, BL1 8PB or alternatively by email to quoting the reference above and setting out your complaint in full, in a clear and chronological order, so that the same may be considered in a timely manner.

If you are not satisfied with the final response from the complaints officer, or you have not received a response to your complaint within eight weeks, you may refer your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.

They expect complaints to be brought to them within one year of the date of the act/omission about which you are concerned, or one year from when you reasonably should have known about a complaint.

The Legal Ombudsman will usually only agree to investigate where they have been contacted within six months of our final response to the complaint.
